Creative Movement (ages 3 - 4)

A 45-minute introductory dance class consisting of ballet, jazz, and creative movement. This class assists the dancer in identifying basic forms of movement through imaginative games, songs, music, and rhythmic patterns. Young dancers will be introduced to the elements of dance of body, space, time, energy as well as encouraged to take direction from the instructor and share turns with peers. Emphasis is placed on both fine and gross motor skill development, coordination, and balance in a safe nurturing environment. Engaging music and the use of props will be used for creativity, and most of all, to have fun.
Attire--Hair in a bun. Pink tights, ballet, and pink ballet dress

Creative Dance (Ages 5 - 6)

This is a 45-minute class consisting of ballet, jazz, and creative movement. Combo I (Ages 7 - 9)

This one-hour class teaches basic technique, terminology, and style with an emphasis on proper technique, alignment and movement quality in styles of jazz, ballet, and hip hop. They will be introduced to the elements of dance of body, space, time, energy which will lead to choreography.
Attire--Hair in a bun or in a ponytail. Pink tights, ballet or jazz shoes, black leotard, black booty shorts (optional)

Combo II (Ages 10 - 12)

This class is similar to Combo I, but is more for the serious and experienced dancer. This one-hour class builds on their previous knowledge of technique, terminology, and style with an emphasis on proper technique, alignment and movement quality in styles of jazz, ballet, and hip hop. They will be introduced to the elements of dance of body, space, time, energy which will lead to choreography.
Attire--Hair in a bun or in a ponytail. Pink tights, ballet or jazz shoes, black leotard, black booty shorts (optional)

Company (Ages 12 - 18)

This class is for the serious dancer who would like to take dance to the next level through their dance ability and leadership skills. Company class is for the beginner dancer or the experienced dancer. Company dancers demonstrate an extra commitment to dance and involvement in Elements Dance Academy. They are a group of young students who show promise and enthusiasm for dance and our community. Dancers will gain confidence and refine their craft by focusing on all of the styles of dance, learning about the 5 elements of dance, and participating in choreography studies. Company members will provide support for the community, create leaders to lead themselves and be role models in society, and provide opportunities for connecting with art, nature, music, dance and with people. There is an extra time commitment outside of the regular class schedule due to community and EDA events.
**Note: Student directors, mentors, and assistants must be enrolled in this class.
Attire--Hair in a bun or in a ponytail. Black booty shorts, unitard, or jazz pants. Black jazz shoes, and a black leotard, tights (optional, pink or nude)

Boys Dance (Ages 5 - 18)

This class is an hour all-boys dance class consisting of jazz and hip-hop movement. Geared toward a young boy’s active and physical nature, the purpose of this class is to inspire young boys to be creative through movement. We will take what is popular during the time and create dances together.
*Inquire with Megan if interested.
Attire--Any clothing that is easy and comfortable to move in.

Strength and Stretch (Ages 7 +)

This class uses a combination of floor barre, work outs, to improve balance, strength, placement and coordination.
Attire--Hair in a ponytail or out of the face. Any clothing that is easy and comfortable to move in.

Ballet Level 1 (Ages 12 - 18)

The goal of ballet class is to impart the fundamentals of classical ballet. Class will focus on basic ballet technique, proper body alignment, French terminology, and position of the feet/arms. Students will be introduced to barre exercises, center work, across the floor, and allegro. This class is subject to the needs of the overall attendees of each class.
Attire--Hair in a bun or in a ponytail. Pink tights, ballet shoes, black leotard

Ballet Level 2 (Ages 12 - 18)

Level 2 students continue to develop extension of the legs and strength of the feet as well as more advanced barre work, center work, port de bras, musicality and artistry. Dancers in this class are serious about developing their ballet technique and may be assessed for pointe work. Dancers must wear appropriate dance attire for class. Ages are subject to change based on the dancer's ability. *Inquire with Megan if interested in placing for Ballet Level 2.

Ballet Level 3 (Ages 12 - 18)

Level 3 is a pre-pointe/pointe class. Dancers in this class have demonstrated strength in their feet and ankles while at the barre. Body alignment, muscle awareness, and body awareness is developed. Students are able to self correct and to apply corrections more frequently. Students will see an increase in difficulty at the barre and center work and allegro have become a focus during class. Dancers must wear appropriate dance attire for class. Ages are subject to change based on the dancer's ability. *Inquire with Megan if interested in placing for Ballet Level 3.

Jazz (Ages 12 - 18)

This class will give students a thorough grounding in jazz terminology and technique while giving them an opportunity to grow as performers. The warm-up and progressions will use classic jazz technique to develop students' musicality, athleticism, alignment and performance. We will use this technical base to explore a variety of jazz styles, including classical, musical theater, jazz funk and lyrical/contemporary. This class is subject to the needs of the overall attendees of each class.
Attire--Hair in a bun or in a ponytail. Black booty shorts, unitard, or black jazz pants, black jazz shoes, black leotard

Hip Hop (Ages 9+)

Hip Hop encompasses many different urban dance styles such as poppin’, locking, breaking as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style. Our Hip Hop classes teach rhythm, coordination, musicality and choreography without suggestive music or movements. Students are challenged to think on their feet while enjoying an energetic and fast-paced dance class. Our Hip Hop dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun. This is an excellent class for high-energy kids who want to take a fast and fun dance class. This class is subject to the needs of the overall attendees of each class.
Attire--Hair in a ponytail or out of the face. Any clothing that is easy and comfortable to move in.

Adult Ballet (Ages 18 +)

Suitable for the beginning or experienced adult. The class will introduce basic movement vocabulary and French terminology as well as safe stretching techniques and practices. Students will learn positions of the feet, arms, and begin fundamental barre and center work. Attention is paid to proper body alignment, use of the legs and feet, and developing movement sequences through coordination of the arms and head. This class is subject to the needs of the overall attendees of each class.

Adult Jazz (Ages 18 +)
